Mentorship

Rocky-H.-7-low-compressor

“For years my teaching journey was largely a solitary one. Save for periodic conversations with other teachers about their process, much of what I learned was through observation, trial and error, and experience. It was 6 years ago that I met my first mentor, and have since recognized and eagerly adopted mentors in various aspects of my personal and professional life. What I love most about mentorship is that the guidance is informed first and foremost by the goals of the individual receiving mentoring. When I offer a training or a workshop I often have an agenda surrounding what I wish to facilitate and the learning outcomes of my students. When working with a teacher one-on-one, I have the opportunity to listen and learn what areas of study and ability they wish to develop, and can create opportunities to help meet their needs. In this way, the scope of what I am able to assist my students with is vast and unique to the individual, their preferred learning style, and specific intent. I am incredibly grateful for the rich and potent learning I have acquired through the brilliance of my mentors and find it incredibly rewarding to pay this forward and contribute to the expansion of awareness, confidence, and understanding in my clients.
