ABOUT Rocky

Rocky Heron

Music and melody are encoded in Rocky’s DNA. The son of an acclaimed reggae musician and an alternative medicine woman, Rocky grew up surrounded in a rich tapestry of musical influences. As a child, Rocky was baptized in the Caribbean sea with the prayer that his life would unfold like a beautiful song.

Rocky grew up in the mountains of Northern California where his young career in music and acting blossomed, performing to sold out crowds in regional theater productions. The exposure to the arts as a profession inspired him to move to LA, fresh out of high school. While studying acting at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Rocky picked up the guitar and quickly taught himself how to play. His poetic tone emerged as a raw yet soothing voice in search for wisdom for the complexities of navigating life as a young gay artist. His first two acoustic albums, “Downstream” and “The Love Demos” served as sincere love letters to the Universe to sync him up with his purpose: to educate and inspire.

Following the trail of his dynamic interests, and his commitment to asking the deeper questions, Rocky found his way into the practice and study of Yoga, and has since gone on to become an international and highly regarded teacher and trainer. His following album, “The Requiem EP” was born out of his affinity for the healing power of chanting, as taught through the yoga system, and featured 5 acoustic songs comprised of devotional Hindu mantras. Rocky has had the pleasure of performing these compositions around the world at yoga studios, festivals, and conferences, and his music is a featured element in many teachers classes who have experienced first hand its soul stirring and meditative qualities.

He makes his mark on the dance-pop genre with his highly anticipated EP, “Nuffa Luv”, which reflects the diversity of Rocky’s musical influences. Much like pop music, Rocky is a musical and ethnic mutt, who’s sound and voice uniquely combine to create an honest and introspective mood with playfully woven melodies. The eclectic mix of passionate R&B vocals and electro-Caribbean-dance beats is as refreshing as it is compelling. If Craig David, Bob Marley, and Stevie Wonder were to create a sound child, it would be Rocky.

Rocky’s life has been anything but conventional, and his mission continues to be to serve as a catalyst for alignment. His music and his teaching are offered as a result of his fervent desire to speak wisdom and truth in increasingly resonant ways. “Let us all remember the gift our embodiment can serve to elevate our world. May my work serve to harmonize humanity with our authentic vision, that we may all more boldly share our magic.”
